- Analyze demand: Where do requests come from? Any patterns?
- Analyze system capabilities: What does history say about delivery speed?
- Model the workflow: What activities affect each work item?
- Identify classes of service: How are which items handled within the system?
- Design the board: Model all this in a board: workflow = columns, classes = rows.
