30/60/90 day plans add some intentionality and drive to career pathing.
After reviewing career path, discuss what can happen in the next 90 days to make progress. After setting those targets, probe for a 30 day plan to move that direction. A 60 day plan may not be useful, as so much can change in a month. During this planning, also ask what should not be done during the period to identify potential distractions. Manager should make points about under- or over-ambition, but otherwise allow the employee to drive. New members need a more specific plan, in part to assess them.rD3
