Questions to ask to get past automatic internal narrative.

Separate assumptions from facts by asking what more needs to be understood about the situation. The other actors have more pieces of the story which also warrants clarification. Probe internally as well—what motivations are there, what is driving the current response, what feelings are at play? (Label and reappraise.) What was one’s part in this that the narrative might be ignoring? Part of conflict resolution tactics and talking points.rB1
