Leaving space for others to step in to take responsibility is critical for growing employees.
This takes many forms, but 2 clear forms include not handling all escalations/requests to the team and instead allow others to step in, and explicitly identifying good opportunities to delegate ownership. Management should be performing in a different level. Not doing so can create the same results as micromanagement. Helpful to understand members’ career trajectories to know what space to make. They need training on the skills needed for management to go hands-off.
